Movies I want to live in # 2: Picnic at Hanging Rock

On Saturday 14th February 1900 a party of schoolgirls from Appleyard College picknicked at Hanging Rock near Mt. Macedon in the state of Victoria.
During the afternoon several members of the party dissapeared without trace...

Picnic at Hanging Rock is an Australian mistery movie directed by Peter Weir, adapted from the novel of the same name written by Joan Lindsay published on 1967.
The movie is about a group of students, that dissapear after being attracted to a rock, in Australia in the year 1900.

The pace of the movie is marked by the recurrent feeling of anxiety created by the constant images of the rock itself and the Australian vegetation.
To increase this whimsical feeling there are, the sometimes, disjointed but intriguing dialogues.

One of the things I liked the most about this movie is the way is told, even if it looks it's based on real story, it's not, it's just an adaptation of the novel.
The OST (which I'd love to get), is very mystical, full of bagpipes and sounds that give you goose bumps and help create an environment full of mystery.
The relationship between the students, how they live St.Valentine's Day; the first scene; everything is so romantic, so sweet and dream-like.
