Missing Alfajores..

If someone ever ask me if I would live again in Argentina, I would say no, at least for now. If someone ever ask me if there's anything I really miss from Argentina (apart from my family, of course), that would be Alfajores!

An alfajor is a traditional confection that is found in countries of Latin America. Its basic form consists of two round sweet biscuit joined together with dulce de leche or jam and covered with powdered sugar or chocolate.

Here in Spain there is a confection known as alfajor, but it's a different story. And like most of Spanish confections, I don't like it.

Some delicious Alfajores! The first ones made by a friend! ♥

And just because is awesome, here's a video that shows how Havanna alfajores (the most delicious alfajores in Argentina) are made.
It's in spanish, but watching it you get the general idea and make your mouth water!

Which blogs are you thankful for?

Bloglovin' came up with a great idea! Which blogs are you thankful for?
So I thought I should be thankful for the blogs that inspire me the most and I really enjoy reading.

Lulu Letty

How can you not love Maria! She's so sweet and cute!
I enjoy every post she makes: fashion, inspiration, music, blogger of the week, you name it!
I love her style, her ribbons and red suits her lovely!

Let me feel like a doll

Ahh Laia.., I love her style and her beauty!
I never met her in person, but I So want to! She's so sweet, adorable and fun!
Love her photos and her rooftop!
If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have made a blog and would've never known so many lovely bloggers!

Liebemarlene

Rhiannon is just so inspirational!
She was the first blogger I've started reading quite often!
Her style is beautiful, I love the places in her photos and her clothes are a dream!

Niotillfem

She's from Swedish so in my book that automatically makes her perfect! xDD
I love how natural she looks in all her photos, so sweet and spontaneous!
I love interpreting what she writes, she's the only blogger I translate.. :333

The Cherry Blossom Girl

Alix was the second blogger I started reading quite often.
And even if I think just like Laia, that she's loosing her personal style, I trust she returns to what she used to be (talking about style here) .
I loved reading her textes while watching her photos, they used to be so inspirational for me.., plus all the parisian backgrounds!!

tinytoadstool

I love Shan Shan's sense of fashion, she's so unique.
Seeing her outfits make me happy with all those colours and shapes!
Plus her berets are a dream!! An impossible dream though.., so expensive!! xDD

And many many more I usually read which I'm thankful too!
All of them inspire me in some sort of ways! Thank you!

My first award!

Some days ago I received a super sweet and cute award
from my friend Libertad from Not here to please you...

I'm supposed to write 10 things about me so it's more interesting!
Let's see.., because I'm so boring!! xDD

1. I love music, I would listen almost everything, but the style I enjoy the most
is Scandinavian Metal, like In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Opeth,
Amorphis and my favourite: Ajattara!

2. I have a passion for dancing since forever, I never studied or intended
to do it professionally, I just enjoy moving my body to the sound of the music.
Whenever I hear music, there you have me dancing! And always loved films
that involved dance!

3. I love reading since I have memory, books were always a part of my life,
so I visit the library quite often and take a few books at once..
My favourite book ever is Le Petit Prince.

4. I've changed schools 6 times during my school years and I blame
my lack of friends and sociability on that simple fact.

5. I've only owned two cellphones in my life, the first one a Xelibry
when I was 25 years old, and the second one a Sony Ericsson Z610i
at the age of 26 (which is my current phone and now I'm 29)

6. I wanted to be an architect so I started the career but quitted it months later.
A year later I started the career for kindergarten teacher but quitted it
a year and a half later due to my son's birth and never wanted to study again..

7. I always have soup for dinner, in cold or hot weather.
If I don't I wake up late at night craving for one.

8. I was born in Argentina and lived there for 22 years, then I moved
to Spain and I've been living here for 7 years already!
I miss my family so much! Especially my mum and bro.

9. My only craving when I was pregnant was bananas,
I wanted bananas at the most unusual times.

10. My favourite ice-cream flavour is vanilla,
as well as vanilla yoghurt.

I hope you enjoyed knowing a little more about me,
and now I'll give this award to the adorable Maka from The Longest Journey
and the lovely Michelle from Mermaids and Flotsam.

Morning Flowers

This morning I found lovely pink blooming flowers in my front garden..
They were made of wool.., so soft, so cute and warm, I couldn't help it and took them home.

I love making pom poms.., they're stress relievers, I made then just for fun and have a lot laying around.
Some time ago I found a pompom flowers tutorial, and it was so simple yet so cute that I went picking little branches to make my flowers.
They are not only cute to decorate the house, but also lovely to give a nice touch to any gift!

Illustration Illusion

Like you might know my favourite clothes brand in the world Emily Temple cute, a girly brand from Japan; so I always stalk anything related to them.
Some time ago, I discovered Chinatsu Higashi, the amazing artist behind two ETc print series: "Present Box" and "Rabbits and Ribbons" both from 2007.
She's a Tokyo artist who loves to express the world through charming and gentle painting, pattern drawing & collage.

"Present Box Print Series" & "Rabbits & Ribbons Print Series"

Not only she collaborated with ETc, she also did with Afternoon Tea on Christmas 2007 with beautiful packagings for their delicious treats.

Afternoon Tea "2007 Christmas Collection"

She did many more collaborations and her drawings now and then appear at different Japanese publications such as OZ or きらら.

Thanksgiving Thank-a-Thon Blog Contest!

Modcloth came up with an awesome contest for Thanksgiving day, and even though we don't celebrate it here in Spain, that's no reason for not being thankful.

Be sure to check their blog by clicking the image to enter the contest.

♥.♥.♥.♥.♥.♥.♥.♥.♥.♥.♥.♥.♥.♥.

And here is who I'm thankful for!

My son Ryu-chan: He's the most wonderful thing ever happened to me. Watching him smile, puts a smile in my face; watching him cry, makes me want to protect him forever; watching him grow, makes me not giving up even if life is hard. I love him and I'm thankful for him loving me back!

dreams do come true..

One of my dreams has been always visiting Japan at least once; years passed and there was no sign of this happening.
A few days ago, Tamar called me to tell me there was this special tickets offer to Japan soon to end.., I knew my husband would say "no", but Tamar insisted I should try..
I was the whole day bothering him about it; to my surprise, he said "yes" at the end of the day.
So next year, when the Sakura begin to blossom, we0ll be having a picnic under the trees.. Ohhh, so romantic!

The Cookie Thief

I wish I was a Cooking Mamma, really, but I'm not.
Sometimes I watch my husband cook and he enjoys so much trying different flavours, creating new dishes, I know.., it's his job, but he likes it.
But it's not really my thing, I actually hate cooking and I don't really enjoy eating either; well, I do enjoy sweet things!! :DD
I'm a lucky wife, having a cook as husband, he always treats me to delicious things, like these tiny sponge cakes in different flavours.

A woman was waiting at the airport one night,
With several long hours before her flight.
She hunted for a book in the airport shop,
Bought a bag of cookies and found a place to drop.

She was engrossed in her book, but happened to see,
That the man beside her, as bold as could be,
Grabbed a cookie or two from the bag between,
Which she tried to ignore to avoid a scene

She read, munched cookies, and watched the clock,
As the gustly "cookie thief" diminished her stock
She was getting more irritated as the minutes ticked by,
Thinking, "If I wasn't so nice, I'd blacken his eye!"

With each cookie she took, he took one too.
When only one was left, she wondered what he'd do.
with a smile on his face and a nervous laugh,
He took the last cookie and broke it in half.

He offered her half, and he ate the other.
She snatched it from him and thought, "Oh brother,
This guy has some nerve, and he's also so rude,
Why, he didn't even show any gratitude!"

She had never known when she had been so galled,
And sighed with relief when her flight was called.
She gathered her belongings and headed for the gate,
Refusing to look at the "thieving ingrate".

She boarded the plane and sank in her seat,
Then sought her book, which was almost complete.
As she reached in her baggage, she gasped with surprise.
There were her bag of cookies in front of her eyes!

"If mine are here," she moaned with despair.
"Then the others were his and he tried to share!"
Too late to apologize, she realized with grief,
That she was the rude one, the ingrate, the thief!!!!

Down the stairs..

I finally got my packages, well, two of the three I was waiting for, at least..
The yellow shoes box were the most exciting thing to open, I REALLY wanted to see the colour in real life, and guess what.., IT'S PERFECT! Now I can't wait to make thousand of coordinates with them!
The other package, well.., it didn't contained too many things because I wanted to avoid customs, but the things I got are lovely!
Sad to say one of the dresses I was so anxiously waiting is dirty, it has stains that most probably won't come out, I wish I knew they would..

I bet you wouldn't tell yellow and red are my obsessions.. xDD
